Spain, Marvela – Spain played in the Davis Cup Final 8, 2-0, 3-2, on Sunday, with a 2-0 win over Denmark, but Australia had no such comeback as they lost 3-2 to Belgium.

The Czech Republic overcame the US with Taylor Fritz on Saturday and fought back from the match to win 3-2 in Florida.

Spain, without top-ranked Carlos Alcaraz, lost two opening rubbers and set down in doubles after Jam Munar and Pedro Martinez defeated August Holmgren and Johannes Ingeldsen 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Martinez also saw a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (3) victory at Holga Rune after facing match points that would have sent Denmark in his first reverse singles match.

Pablo Carreno Busta beat Elmer Mueller 6-2, 6-3, making it the first time in history to return to Spain from 2-0.

Australia also recovered from 2-0 after Alex de Minauru defeated Zizoo Bertz 6-2, 7-5 to force a decider.

But the world is no. 91 Rafael Corignon supported the victory over eighth-placed De Minaur the day before, winning 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-3.

Entering the second day at the tie level, 1-1 at Delray Beach, the US pairs Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek won tight doubles matches against Tomas Machac and Jakub Mensik 7-6 (6), 5-7, 6-4.

Jiri Lehekka leveled the tie with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory over fifth-placed Fritz before Mensyk rolled Francis Tierfoe 6-1, 6-4 to seal off the Czech tie.

Also on Saturday, Argentina, Austria and France joined Germany, winning in the Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia and Japan, respectively, securing their positions in the finals in Bologna.
