SIOX FALLS, SD-Retief Goosen won the Sanford International on Sunday with their fourth PGA Tour Champions victory, closing out Bo Van Pelt with a 3-under 67 with a two-stroke margin.
Goosen finished at Minnehaha Country Club at 13 under 197. The 56-year-old South African star – the 2001 and 2004 US Open champions – won the first time since the Galleri Classic in March 2024.
Vanpelt finished at 68.
Ernie Els (73) and Darren Clark (68) finished third with an 8-under. Miguel Angel Jimenez, the leader of the Charles Schwab Cup, was under the age of 71.
Steve Sticker was unable to defend his title when he recovered from back surgery. He hopes to return to PGA Tour champions in December.
Stricker has won South Dakota over the past three years, earning four wins since the tournament began in 2018.
