Arsenal’s Summer Signature Victor Guilyoker has been impressed with a deal that could rise to £64 million only in certain Premier League matches since arriving from the sport in Lisbon.
Mikel Arteta’s long-awaited prolific striker was over by sports manager Andrea Berta in the first window of the Italians at the Emirates, with supporters eagerly waiting for the Swedish debut with great hopes.
Gyoker scored incredible 97 goals in 102 appearances in the sport before the switch to North London – leading the Primira Liga champion to last season’s domestic double – and Arteta hopes his new Number Nine can replicate those heroics on the British coast.
Despite Arteta’s love for Benjamin Sesco, who Arsenal tried to sign in the summer of 2024 and January, Berta reportedly rocked the Arsenal chief and moved instead for the (athletic) gyoker.
Arsenal’s Summer Signature | price tag |
---|---|
Kepa Arrizabalaga | 5m |

Christian Norgaard | £15 million |
Please call Maduyke | 52m |
Christian Mosquera | £13 million |
Viktor | 55m |
Back seat | £67.5m |
Piero Encocapi | loan |
So far, this sign has been pretty promising, but some criticisms have stripped the glow of link-up plays compared to things like Liverpool star Alexander Isaac, who was once the target of Arteta’s “dreams.”
Sky Sports expert Gary Neville also believes Gyoker won’t become a big name for Arsenal, and the 27-year-old has not affected both Man United and Liverpool this season.
“He’s a misfit. He’s a misfit for that group in the sense that it’s not technically surprising, but he actually likes that contrast. I think the idea of making this abused Ram a bit uneasy will beat a small team.”
“I’m not sure if he’ll do that in the big game and score in the big game, but I think the best defender might handle him.
His goal so far is a 5-0 win over Leeds United, and most recently, last Saturday the Gunners sent Ange Post Cogle’s Nottingham Forest 3-0.
Troy Deany’s Tip Arsenal to replace Victor Gyoker with Kai Herberts
When Kai Herberts, the 280,000-pound star per week, returns from injury, Talksport Pundit Troy Deeney is sure Arteta will bench Gyoker for a big game in the versatile Germany favour.
“He didn’t do anything against Liverpool, but they’re the game they brought to him,” Deeney said.
“Even if you don’t score, you’re an annoying, you’re a threat and tell others, “right, we need to deal with you.”
“I think in that moment, it’s where he’s short on it. And in those bigger games, when everyone is speeding up, Hubbert will play in those games, I really do.”
Football is often reactionary at the best point, and we believe Gyoker needs more time to settle in Europe’s most competitive sector.
Viktor Gyoker will be on a big stage for Arsenal in time
The lack of impact on strikers Man United and Liverpool is a concern, but it can simply be placed on Gyoker, who finds his feet at a brand new club, amid a lot of pressure to deliver.
In last season’s Sports CP, the Swedes produced 54 goals and 13 assists overall competition, thriving under the pressure of the title race and the European night. His record shows that he didn’t just score against weaker opposition.
Gyoker regularly targeted or supported the team in decisive matches, including a match between Porto and Benfica.
His six goals in eight Champions League matches in the sport last season, including a stunning hat-trick against Man City, are also phenomenal to highlight that Gyoker can actually offer the biggest opportunity.
