Nikki Butt now claims Manchester United has a “top, top player” that manager Reuben Amorim doesn’t “respect.”

Amorim was questioned by former Man Utd Stars

Amorim is under great pressure after Sunday’s 3-0 Manchester Derby defeat, with Wayne Rooney being one of the newest former players to criticise the performance, saying: “We want to support our team, we want to support our managers as much as possible, but we need to be honest because fans are not stupid and have to give honest opinions about what we see.

United legend continued to be added: “We have to be honest with what we see. Frankly, that’s not enough.”

Daily Mirror reporter David McDonnell revealed that some United players have also begun to become skeptical of their managers.

Paul Scholes had previously asked Amorim’s decision to use Bruno Fernandes in his mid-center role, but Portugal International began at the expense of Cobby Mine, who defeated the pecking orders this season.

Mainoo is a two-time Premier League contestant, bringing it to an alternative to Burnley and Manchester City, and Butt is now criticising the 20-year-old United manager for his treatment.

Speaking about Good, Bad and the soccer podcast, the former midfielder said: “I don’t think he’s respected in the way he should have become Cobby. He’s a young boy, I got it, he boils a bit, I got it, but he flies to the scene and he’s playing for England – he’s the top, the top player.

“Every club wants him and he’s brushed on the sides, and now he might think so.

Mainoo deserves to start more games for Man Utd

Fernandez has been one of the only shining lights for the Red Devils since Amorim’s arrival, earning eight goals and 11 assists in the Premier League last season, but Portugal International has clearly made its place.

Nigel Reo-Coker is questioning why everyone else can see that a 31-year-old should play in a midfield role on attack, except for the United boss. “It wasn’t necessarily Fernandez’s fault, it was more Reuben Amorim that he insisted he had to play in this deeper role, which had obvious flaws and weaknesses.

“We all seem to know that he’s playing as No. 10, other than Amorim.”

Mainoo, on the other hand, is a natural central midfielder, who managed to be impressed after playing against Man City, winning two tackles, three ground duels and completing all the passes that tried all 18 passes.

So the 20-year-old got the opportunity to start his next match. The Red Devils are set to stand up against Chelsea at Old Trafford this Saturday.
