BOLOGNA, Italy – Spanish US Open Champion Carlos Alcalaz was able to face Italian Janik Sinner with another title decider after their country was placed in the opposite half of the draw in the Davis Cup Final 8.

Spain played the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals before it could face Germany or Argentina, with defending champion Italy facing Austria on Wednesday. France plays Belgium for the other semi-finals.

Alcaraz defeated Thinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 earlier this month, returning to his second US Open Championship, sixth overall major trophy and number one in the rankings.

The Davis Cup Final 8 will be held in Bologna, Italy from November 18th to 23rd.
