Former Liverpool and Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is in a good position to provide insider information about Alexander Isaac’s move this summer.

Swedish International has moved from St. James Park to Anfield in recent years after a world-class display in Newcastle.

Liverpool fans will be pleased to have signed such a big name to bolster the offense, and Benitez gave some insight into how it fell in Newcastle.

The Spaniard had a spell to take charge of both clubs, but he commented that Isaac left, saying that the people spoken in Newcastle were clearly unhappy.

Of course, the club misses talent like Isaac, but it seems like there’s a real disappointment for the NUFC as the 25-year-old was doing so well and looked better.

“We’ve talked to people at Newcastle United and they’re missing him,” Benitez told TNT Sports.

“He was doing really well and he was adjusting to style, to the game.

“He’s smart with his movements. He can play in the middle. Or he can grow up. He can run backwards and dribble.

“So it’s a great signature for Liverpool and I think it’s a big mistake for Newcastle United.”

How Newcastle replaced Alexander Isaac

Newcastle has at least two new strikers on the team after bringing in Nick Urtemaid and Joane Wissa.

These should help deal with Isaac’s departure, even if it is obviously difficult to directly replace the world-class frontman.

Isaac made his Liverpool debut against Atletico Madrid this week in a Champions League clash at Anfield. It will be interesting to see if he can replicate Newcastle’s form on the side of Arne Slot.
