Manchester United is reportedly one of the clubs showing interest in the potential transfer of Barcelona central midfielder Fren Kiedejon.

The Netherlands International shines during his stay at Barca, but he is nearing the end of his contract and could make him a free agent next summer.

It seems like Man Utd and others want to take advantage of the situation, with Fichajes giving them the name as the two clubs who created their first informal contacts for potential deals.

De Jung could be seduced by the changes in the scene, so perhaps he wouldn’t renew his deal, which could pave the way for his move to United.

De Jung has checked a lot of boxes for United. He is a clear upgrade on what they have in the midfield right now, and he is still at his peak, bringing the experience and mentality of those who have won many major trophies.

The 28-year-old may prefer someone like Bayern at this point, but it is still not clear what the situation United will be in by next summer.

The Red Devils are currently not playing in European competition. It remains to be seen whether they are realistically competing to do so next season.

By contrast, Bayern could almost certainly rejoin the Champions League and offer DeJohn a realistic chance to win a major trophy.

That being said, if you want to ensure De Jong starts the game regularly, MUFC could be a safer move from that perspective.

We also understand that Al Hilal midfielder Reuben Neves is another united target in the middle of the park.
