It’s certainly not a panic station, but I’m not planning on Chelsea so far this season.
Enzo Maresca’s side was held in a draw at Crystal Palace in the opening game of the Premier League, then pulled away by Brentford last weekend, losing to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
There is no shame in losing to the German giants now. The lack of real threat from the West Londoners was bothering me, especially given the lack of experience on this blues team.
So, in order for them to have a better chance of defeating Manchester United this afternoon, Maresca should drop the under-performing Pedro Neto for anyone who could become something like the new Juan Mata for Chelsea.
Poor start to the Net season
First of all, it’s worth noting that Neto is undoubtedly a talented player and when he’s in his form he’s a nightmare for a defender.
But equally true is the fact that he has started slowly this season and hasn’t offered much to the team as things are standing.
For example, Joao Pedro has already scored twice and provided three assists, Enzo Fernández has produced three target involvement, and the injured Cole Palmer already has two targets in his last two appearances.
In contrast, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star has only scored one goal so far, but has not reduced his efforts, which he faced West Ham United, who appears to be a serious relegation contender this season.
Moreover, he was not even effective against Bayern. He was actually making things worse for the team.

Overall, Pedro is a talented player and may still play a key role in Chelsea’s season, but he should be dropped for today’s game, especially as there are people ready to trade him, and who could become something like a new mata.
Chelsea’s new Mata should replace Pedro
While some may argue that Palmer is the closest to this new Mata on the Chelsea side, the player we’re talking to is an incredibly exciting Estebao.
Now, it’s undoubtedly true that the Brazilians are primarily wingers and the Spaniards are offensive midfielders, but people often forget that the former blues star actually spent a lot of his time in West London.
In fact, the appearance of the 37 he made from the left, combined with the 26 he made to the right, matches the 67 he made as the 10.

However, there is actually a minor positional similarity between the two players, but that is not the basis of this comparison.
Instead, at his best, the 37-year-old was able to make something that nothing happened, and was incredibly talented offensive.
For example, in 135 appearances for a total of 10,118 minutes of pensioners, the Burgot-born maestro scored 33 goals and provided 53 assists.
In other words, the 41 cap icon averaged goal involvement every 1.56 games or every 117.65 minutes. This is the creativity that teams need right now, and what Estevao can offer in the future.
Certainly, he probably won’t post such numbers this season, but there’s no reason to think he won’t get there as people like respected analyst Ben Matinson call him the “future Baron de or winner.”
In fact, after a Mazeer run at the West Ham Games, he provided his first competitive assist with Pedro, so we’ve already seen what he can do this season.
In addition to having as good potential as the former United star, he is also a left footer and is clearly a celebrity by looking at his highlights.
Ultimately, he’s not yet on the level of Mata yet, but as scout Jacek Kulig puts it, he was a “world-class” outlook and was able to get there quickly.
Therefore, Maresca should be bold and start him in place of today’s Neto.
