MILANO – Italian rapper Fedes has apologised for publishing the lyrics to the music, saying tennis player Janik Sinner was speaking in “Adolf Hitler’s accent.”

Fedez recently posted an Instagram story featuring the lyrics to a new song in Italian, “In Italian there is a new idol named Jannik Sinner. Pureblood Italian with an accent of Adolf Hitler.”

Bolzano City Councilman – The German-speaking autonomous capital of Alto Adigue in Northern Italy, where criminals are found – on Thursday he made a formal complaint to prosecutors of Fedes’ lyrics based on an article in Italian criminal law sanctions sanctions for racial hatred and propaganda.

“I wanted to take the paradox, but I was a terrible mistake for athletes born and raised in Italy, but I’m considered Italian because of their skin color and never applied to top Italian athletes,” Fedez said at a concert in Milan on Friday.

“I couldn’t pull it off, so all I can do is apologize,” Fedes added. “If this is not understood, it’s because of the mistakes made by the person who wrote it. So I’m responsible.”

The reference to “pure blood Italian” recalls Italian fascist propaganda in the 1930s, according to city council member Giuseppe Martec, who added that references to Hitler are unacceptable.

“It felt my duty to act and maintain the founding values of our constitution,” Martucci said. “We cannot allow language to evoke racism.

By winning four Grand Slam titles in the last two years, Thinner has become the country’s most popular athlete, beyond Italian football stars. He lost Carlos Alcalaz’s US Open Final this month, losing his No. 1 ranking to his Spanish rival.

This is not the first time a sinner has faced the fundamental sentiment that he is not entirely Italian.

He was widely criticized for saying that he had not recovered from the North American tournament in time before he won his first Grand Slam title and chose not to play the Davis Cup for Italy in September 2023.

“Caso Nazionale” (National Issue) stated the homepage of SportWeek, the Weekly Magazine of Gazzetta Dello Sport, with a double meaning heading.

Later, when the Sinner won his first Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australia Open, he was treated as a return national hero and met with Prime Minister Giorgi Ameloni at Chigi Palace.

The Sinner and Meloni took a photo when they first raised the Australian Open Trophy and then the Italian flag. The sinner then gave Meloni a warm embrace to end the meeting.
