Although Ryder Cup Week has not yet begun, the heat is already rising due to the highly anticipated battle at Beth Page Black. Two of the Ryder Cup’s biggest stars, Rory McIlroy and Bryson Dechambeau, are trading before the event.

When Murray asked McIlroy what he thought about his plan for him at Beth Page, McIlroy dismissed it with his own jab at the two-time US Open champion.
“I think the only way he gets attention is to mention other people. That’s basically what I think. To get attention, he mentions me, Scotty (Schaeffler) or others,” McIlroy said. Guardian.
The existing rivalry between the two players may have influenced the tone of the comment. Off the course, McIlroy and DeChambeau were on the other side of the PGA Tour Liv Golf feud.
On the course, Deccanbo stole the 2024 US Open from McIlroy’s grasp, and McIlroy returned his favor in Augusta with a historic Masters victory this April. Bryson played against Rory in the final round and finished T5. After the tournament, Deccanbo insisted that McIlroy “didn’t talk to me all day.”
However, their Ryder Cup history is hardly intersected. Dechambeau performed in two Ryder Cups in 2018 and 2021. McIlroy also performed at both of these events, but never faced each other in the match.
At the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, Deccanboe wasn’t making a US team.
MCILROY: That will “inevitable” Ryder Cup fans “reach us”
Recently, there have been a lot of manual winding about how New York fans behave in the three days of playing the Ryder Cup at Beth Page Black.
No one knows what will happen, but players in both the US and Europe seem to agree that it will be a noisy and hostile environment for the away team. Plus, there is the fact that the final Rider Cup featured a brawl close to the players, and you are creating a volatile golf event.

“I think we’re in a much better place when compared to the last two away rider cups I’ve played,” McIlroy said. “We still believe we are underdogs, but we feel more confident than we did in 2016 and 2021.”
The Ryder Cup action begins on Friday, September 26th at the Black Course on Long Island.
