Former Bundesliga forward and footballer Panditjan Eige Fjoltoft has expressed skepticism about recent reports linking Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner to the transition to Manchester United.

Despite speculation efforts, Fjørtoft believes Glasner will remain at the palace for now, and prefers to wait for a more appealing offer rather than jumping at the first chance.

Glasner is reportedly one of the candidates on the Man United list to replace Reuben Amorim if the Red Devils decide to say goodbye to their Portuguese manager.

Amorim faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford as they got off to a disastrous start to the season when they saw them beat in Arsenal, the town of Grimsby and Manchester City.

Oliver Glasner was very impressed at Crystal Palace

Glasner took over the reins at Crystal Palace in February 2024. Under his leadership, the Eagles showed clear signs of improvement, defeating Manchester City and Liverpool respectively this year to win the FA Cup and Community Shield.

According to Fjørtoft, Glasner could adopt a patient stance. He believes that Austrian coaches will not only better meet his standards, but will wait for an opportunity to justify leaving the palace.

“If Guehi says that if Glasner is gone then I’m leaving, wouldn’t that be great? He can turn that around now.” Fjortoft joked on ESPN FC (47:45).

“But I don’t think Glassner will be leaving for Manchester United.

“He’ll wait and hold on.”

Glasner is one of the best managers in the UK at this point and is expected to see his service increase from the top clubs.

He has taken the club at stake to major silverware and despite losing major players to big companies every year, he continues to compete in the palace.

The Palace lost Michael Oris to Bayern Munich last summer. This summer they know what the future will be for Mark Guech, who lost Ebebeki Eze to Arsenal and was heavily linked to his journey to Liverpool.

The main architect of the palace’s success is Glasner, and he will not be able to make an offer in the near future.
