  • Liverpool is interested in Julian Alvarez
  • Do they really need Alvarez at Anfield?

Liverpool has started their new season in style. Under Arne Slot, they rediscovered both Swagger and efficiency, winning all the first six matches at the top of all competitions and Premier League.

But the ambitious club never takes a break. Red has been upgraded even further, even though the offensive options are already in place.

One name that has resurfaced with some noise in the speculation of his recent transfer is Julian Alvarez, who is currently ahead of Argentina with Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool is interested in Julian Alvarez

According to Fichajes, Liverpool and Barcelona are both interested in the Argentine striker’s move, but it’s the Merseyside Club “in the best position” to sign off on attackers.

Alvarez has built a rich reputation over the past few seasons. Since moving from Manchester City to Atletico, he has become the central figure in Simeone’s attacks.

The Argentine attacker scored 29 goals for the LA La Liga last season in a highly successful individual campaign.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has already invested heavily in their front line. They brought in Alexander Isaac and Hugo Echicicke following the departure of Darwin Nuñez and Luis Diaz.

Still, Ekitike has shown three goals, three goals and assists in five league starts, but it appears that the club believes there is more to do in terms of elite depth.

Given the costly amount of Alvarez, targeting Atletico attacker movements makes no sense from Reds.

Despite his undeniable talent and quality, the Reds are sufficient for the ammunition they are attacking at the moment, and unless someone leaves the club they are not expected to move to the Laliga star.

The report from Fichajes should not be taken too seriously as Reds converges in a position that attacks all the foundations.

Simeone praised the Atletico Madrid striker. He said:

“He’s 25 years old and an extraordinary player. He’s hungry, humble, hardworking, goalscorer and full of class.”
