Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed that he believes some of his team’s players are questioning Mikel Arteta’s choice against Manchester City.

The Gunners drew Man City 1-1 thanks to the suspension time equalizer of substitute Gabriel Martinelli, but many fans and critics feel the game should win.

City was founded very defensively at Emirates Stadium after being hit 5-1 last season, but Arsenal didn’t get the initiative as many expected.

Arteta started off on the bench with both Martinelli and Eberechi Eze with a slightly surprising move.

Wright clearly agreed with Gary Neville and Jamie Carrager, who said Arteta should have played Martinelli and Eze from the start of the game.

Neville asked the former Arsenal striker if he felt that these surprise calls could have an impact on the confidence of other players in the dressing room.

Wright responded by suggesting that if he was “honest” players may not have asked directly about the lineup, but that he might have expected something different.

The critics said it happened to him during his play day, and he agreed with Neville’s claim that it was essentially a 45 minute was wasted by Arsenal.

According to Neville, Arteta knew he had made it wrong.

Neville also revealed that he felt Arteta knew that he had made a mistake in his decision to make his choice because he changed it at halftime.
