Tottenham legend Harry Kane was able to make a spectacular return to the Spurs next year following news of the £54 million release clause on his Bayern Munich contract.
Thomas Frank opens the door for Harry Kane to rejoin Tottenham
Since saying emotional farewells to North London more than two years ago and agreeing to join Bayern in a £86 million deal, the 32-year-old has led Vincent Companyy’s side to the Bundesliga title and the German Super Cup, scoring 98 goals in all competitions in the process.
Kane is intrigued to reach Bayern’s 100 landmark goals and was able to do so tonight against Werder Bremen.
England and Tottenham’s record-breaking scorer was a revelation to the Germans, but he was only under two years on his contract, and Kane himself wouldn’t be younger. The prospect of leaving him in 2026 is real.
The highest scorer ever in the Premier League | the goal |

Stakeholders have the option to trigger his clauses when potentially active in January (Bild), but it has been suggested that summer moves are far more likely ever since.
Tottenham has the right to “first rejection” of any deal for Kane and is ahead of other suitors, subject to both Bayern and the centre-forward who agrees to the move (telegraph).
When asked about Kane’s release clause earlier this week, Spurs boss Thomas Frank made his thoughts clear.
“He’s an incredible player who’s doing great things for the Spurs and great things for Bayern. He’s a top player. I think there are a lot of Tottenham fans, including me who want to get Kane back,” Frank said.
“Personally, I don’t think he’ll do it now if I’m honest. He probably stays with Bayern, was the top scorer last year, won the championship, and I don’t know what he’s thinking right now. I’m a traveler. I like to travel.
“But he’s very welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s welcome!”
Tottenham is reportedly ready to move to Kane.
With this in mind, a new update from journalist Ben Jacobs might come as very good news for Frank’s part.
Harry Kane’s attitude to leave Bayern Munich next summer
Reporters told GivemeSport that Kane might consider ejecting from Bayern after the 2026 World Cup, and if he goes anywhere, it’s back in the Premier League.
“He’s not yet attracted to going to MLS. The Saudi club has tried in the past and has not had any encouragement, so if Kane leaves Bayern, he’ll almost certainly be back in the Premier League,” Jacobs said.
“We need to understand if that’s a return to Tottenham, and Thomas Frank says he’s very welcome.
“I think suitors know this 65 million euro release clause that will be active next summer, and we understand that Kane may consider leaving Bayern after the World Cup.
From its English destination, Tottenham is certainly an outstanding attraction to Kane. You can’t discount his history at the club and his love for the Spurs. And the perfect way to sign off on what was a glittering career is to win silver products there.
Man City once chased after Kane. Before they chose Haaland’s Erling, Pep Guardiola wanted him personally (Fabrizio Romano). However, prospects for travel to the Eastlands and Liverpool are currently off the table, with the latter just completing Alexander Isaac’s British record deal.
Arsenal has just signed Viktor Gyoker, and Chelsea is well known for targeting much younger players as part of their recruitment strategy.
Taking this into consideration, the Spurs are truly the only viable destination and the prospect of a reunion is extremely exciting.
