Former Miami Grand Prix President Tyler Epp has joined Cadillac’s new Formula 1 team as global director of commercial strategy.

EPP has been president of Miami Race since 2022, but it was announced last week that he had accepted the position elsewhere. Replaced with Katharina Nowak. That new destination is now confirmed as Cadillac, with EPP leading the commercial operations of the next F1 team.

“I’ve spent much of my career racing and over the past few years it has helped me redefine what motorsports in America is,” EPP said. “We can’t imagine any more exciting and promising opportunities to galvanize our sports in the US and beyond. The Cadillac Formula 1 team is poised to be a global force for Formula 1, rooted in American heritage and ingenuity.

EPP has led the motorsports business alongside Miami’s Tom Garfinkel since its first race as first vice president and chief operating officer in 2022.

As EPP helped Miami establish himself as a new race in Formula 1 and secure a contract extension until 2041, Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports and Cadillac Formula 1 teams, says his track record was perfect for the sport’s latest attendees.

“We couldn’t find a better leader and visionary to build the commercial division of our team,” Touris said. “His work shaping the Marquee Grand Prix on the Formula 1 calendar into one of the marquee events shows his unique orders for sports both domestically and around the world.”

He also has motorsports experience with NASCAR and INDYCAR, but also highlighted the EPP record, highlighted by Cadillac team principal Graeme Loudon, as the General Motors-supported team prepares to join the grid in 2026.

“Building a team from scratch and successfully takes incredible leadership and exceptional people are needed to carry out the type of vision and ambition we have for a Cadillac Formula 1 team,” Lodoon said. “Tyler has a track record of growing organizations that set standards for F1. We believe his operational expertise will become an important asset for our organization.”
