Italian stars can ask for Leeds moves to play in the World Cup

Leeds may try to go business in January as they are trying to give themselves the best chance of staying in the Premier League. An attack-oriented midfielder could be on the agenda and once the transfer window reopens, one of the targets will be available.

Brenden Arson is the only natural offensive midfielder on Daniel Fark’s team and so far he hasn’t been at his best in the Premier League. So it’s not surprising to see this position being handled in January, and one player who fits the bill is Lorenzo Peregrini.

Leeds targeted Lorenzo Pellegrini and told him to leave Rome.

Previously linked to the summer move to West Ham, Pellegrini has been rarely featured in Rome this season. For this reason, it was decided that he will be allowed to retire in January, as reported by TeamTalk (via Leeds United News).

Pellegrini was not included in the Italian team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in September, so if they don’t play regularly, they will continue to be in conflict. For this reason, he was told to move elsewhere to give him the opportunity to be selected for a prestigious tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico next summer.

Leeds will feel that given his situation there will be a good opportunity to convince him to join Pellegrini in January. If he arrives at Elland Road, he could be a regular starter for Fark, given that he has a lot of experience playing at the top level of European football, but his quality is enough to see him play frequently in the Premier League.
