BEIJING – American Coco Gough defeated Belinda Bensik’s serve to open the decisive set and advanced to China’s Open Quarter Finals on Tuesday, beating Swiss players 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

Second seeded Gouf improved his head-to-head career meeting with 28-year-old Bensik to 4-2.

Three of these matches were played again this year, including Goff’s victory at the Australian Open in January. However, Bencich won in Abu Dhabi, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist made the Indian Wells quarter-finals and advanced to the Wimbledon semi-finals.

The two men’s semi-finals were scheduled later in Beijing in the ATP tournament, which will be running at the same time as the WTA 1000 event. Jannik Sinner is scheduled to play Alex De Minaur, with Tien joining Daniil Medvedev.

The men’s final was scheduled for the ATP Tour on Wednesday, and then moved to the Shanghai Masters for a 12-day run until the final on October 12th.
