  • How Rangers Winger performed in the Premiership
  • Ranger lender who is better than Oliver Ant-Man

There were some positives to take away from the narrow victory the Glasgow Rangers picked up on their trip to the Scottish Premiership last weekend.

The Light Blues won the first match of the league season after four draws and one loss in their first five matches, with Oliver Ant-Man registering their first goal contribution in the league.

As shown in the clip above, Finland International did well to return the ball to the dangerous area and establish James Stavernier for the opening goal against Livingston.

Unfortunately, Rangers Forwards’ goal contributions have been rare in the premiership this season.

Ant-Man’s assist on Tavernier’s goal on Sunday was just the second goal contribution the Rangers winger has provided in six league games so far in the 2025/26 campaign.

As you can see in the table above, Findray Curtis, who faced St Mirren, is the only other player who has provided goals or assists from the wide positions of GERS this season.

Simply put, Martin’s wide players aren’t doing enough in the final third of the premiership, and if GERS wants to get more wins to get the campaign back on track, they’ll need to change.

The wingers currently at the club are struggling in front of the goal, but the wingers sent on loan by the Rangers are now outweighing all of them.

Ross McAussland was sent to Alice Limassol on a seasonal loan during the summer transfer, and Northern Ireland International was impressed with Cyprus.

Rangers Academy alumni have provided three goals and one assist in four ARIS league matches so far. That means each sofa core has more goal contributions (4) than all Gers Wingers combined with all Gers wingers this season.

McAussland, who scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 66 games for the Rangers (Transfer Mark), only started four times in the Ibrox Giants premiere in the 2024/25 campaign.

Looking back, Gars may regret not having had any more opportunities in his natural position, in his natural position, given what he accomplished in such a short time in Cyprus.

Journalist Scott McBurns revealed that ARI has made the course in January to cause him to sign permanently, but added that he has “garnered major European interest” due to his form for his loan club.

The Rangers are expected to receive a six-figure fee to the Northern Ireland forward. That means he can rake for less than a million. This is purely true, but the fact that attackers have “major European interests” suggests that ARIs can benefit instantly in January or next summer.

This is why Light Blues regrets dumping McAuss Land in the summer. At the very least, for a fee of less than £1 million that they agreed to with Alice, he surpassed the current Rangers Winger and was able to move on to another European team next year.

Northern Ireland International may not have lit up the world while on Ibrox’s first team, but he now appears to be a better option than Martin’s at his disposal.
