AC Milan remains keen to secure Joe Gomez’s services from Liverpool during the January transfer period.

They tried to sign the 28-year-old player last summer, but they couldn’t get a deal on the entire line. Liverpool failed to sign Mark Guech on the deadline, which probably played a key role in the English defender staying at the club.

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan is interested in signing players in January, and believes they are likely to get the deal done. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Liverpool can’t afford to lose Joe Gomez

Liverpool recently lost Giovan Nileoni throughout the season due to ACL damage. They already lack deeply in their defensive units and if Gomez allows them to leave the club, that’s a big surprise. He is a very important player to them. He’s not a regular starter, but he can act as a central defender, fullback and defensive midfielder.

Keeping him at the club will be a top priority for Liverpool until the end of the season. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.

Meanwhile, Milan needs to improve its defensive units. Max Allegri has identified the defense as the weakest region of his team. There is no doubt that Gomez will improve them significantly. He has proven himself in the Premier League and is eager to play regularly.

The opportunity to join one of the world’s biggest clubs and play weekly is very appealing to him. However, it is unlikely that he will force an exit from Premier League clubs.

It is still unknown that Liverpool has decided in the coming months.
