Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas criticised Manchester United for spending “crazy” money on Brian Mbeumo this summer.

Cameroon International joined from Brentford in July. This was reported to be the then first £605 million fee for BBC Sports.

Mbeumo was shining between at Brentford, but he wasn’t off to a great start at Old Trafford.

Many fans will be happy to see talent like Mbeumo join in, but it seemed like there were plenty of people paying him, perhaps even in the summer, even at £65 million.

As Metro quotes, when you talk to the Gambling Zone, Gallus will hit the type of price the player has been moving these days.

“They have Brian Mbeumo and the players are sufficient for most aspects, but I don’t know if they can justify that transfer fee,” Glass said.

“They have spent so much money, but haven’t really changed a lot of the first choice XI.

“We’ve always been talking about money these days, so I know prices continue to rise every year, but come on, this seems weird.”

I had a few other left-footed right wings that I moved this summer, so how do you compare the Mbeumo fees to those?

BBC Sport reported that Noni Maduke’s travel from Chelsea to Arsenal was reduced at around £48.5 million, but was barely visible in the Premier League, as Mbeumo did last year.

Anthony Elanga is another similar style of player, but the transition from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle has also been reduced at £55 million, reported by BBC Sports.

Tottenham rookie Mohamed Kudus was also cheap at around £55 million, according to a report from BBC Sports at the time.
