The midfielder has been in a difficult period in his career since leaving Liverpool. He never established himself as a key player in Barcelona or Bayern Munich. He now hopes to continue playing at a high level in Brazil. The player is on the Twilight stage of his career, and he wants to enjoy his football for the rest of his year.
He was considered a world class player during his time at Liverpool, but he never could reach those heights again in his career. You need to wonder if he should have stayed in Liverpool and fulfilled his potential with them.

Meanwhile, he was paying premium wages at Aston Villa, and they would be pleased that they had driven him away. The move didn’t work for them either, and they were stuck with unperformers with high wages.
