American golfer Vince Holly had a particularly nervous encounter with a particularly nervous onlooker at the Sanderson Farms Championship on Sunday.
Whaley rolls up his pants and walks into the deep waters of his ankles after a selfish shooting during the final round of the tournament, but discovers there is no unnecessary company.
We could see the crocodile’s head thrust out of the water a few feet away, but Whaley was preparing to take a shot, but the 30-year-old quickly put the ball back on dry land and escaped with par on Green No. 11.
He ended up finishing the round with a 5-under 67, finishing third in the tournament and five strokes behind winner Stephen Fisk.
Whaley joked about his dangerous brush in an Instagram post, saying, “Saved Par and his hands… sorry, Chubbs!”
Crocodiles have developed the habit of jumping out into golf tournaments, and Billy Horschel even chased one off the course by plunging it in this year’s Cognizant Classic with a 60-degree wedge.
