Russell Martin is now a former GERS manager and feels that after dropping more points at the Scottish premiere it is no longer possible to justify defending him.

I’ll talk to you Talksport Monday (via) National), Rangers legend Ally McCoist expressed his thoughts on the decision to plunder Martin.

“It’s easy to blame the manager, that’s where the back stops. That’s where the manager’s door is responsible. We all know what happens.

“Sometimes, when you get to the pitch, you have to be responsible and the rangers just look like our boys,” the Falkirk Outrun Rangers, they pretended to be rangers. And it can happen from time to time, but it happens regularly. It’s not enough. ”

According to As (via Sports Witness), Quique Setien is currently a potential candidate for becoming the Rangers’ next manager and has left his role in Guan in Beijing. Personal reasons are cited as key to decisions, and the Spaniards feel that they have difficulty being far from their Chinese families and wanting to return to Europe.

Setien is an interesting choice by the Rangers, and the 67-year-old has a long and well-known career in management, with over 500 matches. In fact, he managed Barcena for a short time, suing Barca in 2020, ending with a humiliating loss to Bayern Minic in the Champions League, before the person in charge concluded his contract.

“In my case, it is public and well known that Quique Setien, both the club and the president immediately announced my dismissal on August 17th. However, yesterday, until September 16th (one month later), when I first sent the written communication of the dismissal above.”

Setien manages a total of 10 clubs, including Racing Santander and Villarreal, and if the Ranger feels that after the young Martin, he could be a wise appointment.

However, the reaction to the incoming Setien can be mixed. GERS supporters are more proven bosses and younger choices in British football.
