Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The move ultimately fell apart after Crystal Palace failed to sign a quality player to replace him. The 25-year-old is currently scheduled to leave the club in January. Crystal Palace are under pressure to sanction his departure as his contract expires at the end of the season. They wouldn’t want to lose him for nothing in the summer.
It remains to be seen where he will end up. He has been linked with multiple clubs. Top European players such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also rumored to be involved with the player.
Marc Gehi movement stance
According to journalist Dean Jones via TEAMtalk, Guehi is no longer in favor of Liverpool and could consider a move to any club. This development will be a blow to Liverpool. They are definitely hoping to sign this player in the near future.
Dean Jones said: “I think we need to be clear that Guehi’s situation has changed.” “He is now looking at things from a new perspective. His approach to transfers is not clouded by past thinking.
“So I would like to take the Bayern rumors seriously. It could start to have real appeal when the player is thinking about his next move.”
“Of course there was disappointment when his move to Liverpool fell through, but some of the reports went too far in terms of his reaction.
“He’s a level-headed player who always knows his contract could fall apart and knows there are other opportunities in front of him.
“He certainly wants to join Liverpool and is still interested, but the situation is completely open at the moment. I think he is less likely to commit to Anfield than any other major club at the moment.”
“I understand that he is looking at everything with fresh eyes and Bayern could very well be a very interesting option.”
Liverpool need Guehi
Liverpool are in dire need of defensive depth. Giovanni Leoni is ruled out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, leaving Liverpool lacking depth in defense. It remains to be seen whether they can sign the 25-year-old England international to fill the hole at the back.
Liverpool are one of the best clubs in the world and could offer him the option of competing at the highest level and regularly fighting for major trophies. It will be interesting to see if they can convince him to join.
