  • Will Leeds United star Gnont leave the club?
  • Daniel Falke has a big decision to make

Leeds United could face a huge test of determination in the next window as Wilfried Gounont attracts significant attention from the Saudi Professional League.

According to reports, the cash-rich club is preparing an offer to sign the Italy international from Elland Road, which could happen as early as January.

Backed by the Public Investment Fund and emboldened by recent high-profile raids on Europe’s talent pool, Saudi bidders appear confident they can put forward an offer that suits both the club and the player.

Will Leeds United star Gnont leave the club?

According to MOT Leeds News, investors linked to NEOM and Al Ittihad are preparing to approach Gnont.

Saudi clubs affiliated with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) have demonstrated the ability to meet ambitious fees and wages.

That financial strength is central to the belief that an offer could be attractive if it comes at the right time for Leeds’ team plans.

Crucially, his Elland Road contract runs until June 2028, giving Leeds leverage and no obligation to sell unless a bid matches their valuation and timing needs.

The youngster has had a good start to the season for Los Blancos and their chances of survival in the Premier League will depend on his performance this season.

With NEOM and Al Ittihad linked with a move and a PIF-backed market likely to test Leeds’ valuation, Los Blancos will need to decide whether they are prepared to sign the young Italian if they receive a huge offer, or whether they intend to keep him and develop him into an even better player.

Exploratory talks and a solid bid are expected in the coming days, but whether Leeds make or hold on to the money will tell a lot about the club’s strategy for the second half of the season and beyond.
