  • Malasia to leave Manchester City
  • Manchester United’s ‘exemplary’ ace also set to leave the club

Manchester United’s “exemplary” player is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, along with full-back Tyrrell Malasia, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

Malasia to leave Manchester City

The international break is currently disrupting Premier League action, but all eyes will soon turn to United’s trip to Liverpool next Sunday afternoon.

As for the future of some players, journalist Fabrizio Romano has also said in recent days that Malasia is likely to leave Old Trafford next summer.

“Tyrell Malasia has no intention of signing a new contract with Man United and is 100% certain to leave the club in 2026, despite returning to training with Manchester United’s first team after a crazy period in which he had several chances.”

Given that the Dutchman has fallen far down the left-back pecking order and that rumors of him leaving United have now surfaced again, it feels like the right time for Malasia to move on.

Manchester United’s ‘exemplary’ ace also set to leave the club

Galetti told X that Casemiro will leave Manchester United at the end of this season, at which point his £18m-a-year contract expires.

This follows previous reports that suggested the midfielder actually regrets joining Man United from Real Madrid in 2022.

Like Malasia, it would make sense for Casemiro to leave the Red Devils in 2026. Considering he was 34 years old at the time and clearly not the world-class force he once was.

That’s despite the midfielder being named Brazil’s captain by current manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has spoken highly of him recently.

“Casemiro is an exemplary player, a player that everyone respects. He has the experience and character to lead this team. For me, he could be captain, but I don’t know if he would agree to that. He knows the demands of the top level. He knows how to manage difficult moments and motivate his teammates. Being a captain is not just about wearing the armband. It’s about leading by example on and off the pitch. Casemiro does that naturally.”

Casemiro is highly paid, but given his age it is probably not justified, and his departure would pave the way for the arrival of a young defensive midfielder, be it Carlos Baleva or another player.

He has always given his all for United and with a new contract, perhaps unthinkable for the Red Devils at this point in his career, it makes sense for all parties to see him relish a new challenge.
