It is no secret that Ruben Amorim is under pressure at Man United, but he is expected to remain manager for now. However, if things don’t improve over the next few weeks, he could be sacked as his relationship with the manager has surfaced.

Oliver Glasner is one of the players attracting interest from Old Trafford, and the Crystal Palace manager will be keen to replace Amorim as well. And that point is now keenly felt.

Mick Brown hinted in an interview with Football Insider that Glasner is not too happy at Crystal Palace, despite manager Steve Parish recently confirming that Glasner is in talks over a new contract.

“We all know that Palace want to keep Glasner. When I read the chairman’s wording, ‘We need to adjust our position,’ I read that the manager is asking for something that the club isn’t necessarily doing. He wants to keep his best players and he wants the board to compensate for that by adding depth and quality in the transfer market.”

“This is testing Palace’s hierarchy, weighing their ambitions and seeing if they are ready to give him what he needs to continue on this path. In my experience, owners and chairmen are often too focused on making profits and put finances ahead of the club’s ambitions.”

“If that’s the case, it’s unlikely that the manager will want to stay because they won’t be able to keep up with the ambitions and progress that the manager wants. If they then have the opportunity to move to a club that matches their ambitions, you can’t blame them if they don’t want to do that.”

But in the end it’s up to Palace, this is a test of their ambitions and if they want to keep Glasner they have to give him what he wants, which will boost the transfer window. ”

It remains to be seen how Glassner’s situation will develop in the coming weeks and months. He could be on the shortlist for Man United’s next manager, but for now he will remain at Crystal Palace.
