Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lawrie to compete at 2025 DP World India Championship

The 2025 DP World India Championship will see some serious Ryder Cup talent at the top of the leaderboard.

In the second round held at the Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi, India, Tommy Fleetwood shot a bogey-free 64 with eight birdies to maintain a one-shot lead at 12 under.

Chasing him at 11 under par is his 2025 European Ryder Cup teammate Shane Lowry, who is tied with American Brian Harman.

Fleetwood, who won his first Tour Championship on the PGA Tour and earned the title of 2025 FedEx Cup Champion, was four strokes behind Lowry at the start of the 218th round. Fleetwood is aiming for his eighth DP World Tour win.

“I think we played better than yesterday. I wasn’t happy with the way we hit at the end yesterday,” Fleetwood said. “I hit some balls after that, but I felt like my swing was going in a better direction today. I hit the fairway a lot today, so I just gave myself a chance to hit some good irons from there, and for the second day in a row I had good putts as well.”

On Friday, Lowry shot a 69 and Herman shot a 65. Keita Nakajima is alone in 4th place with a score of 10 under. Another 2025 Ryder Kapper, Ben Griffin (USA), tied for 7th place.

Professional golf these days tends to favor long hitters, but that’s not necessarily the case at New Delhi Golf Club this week. This course has several tight fairways.

“This is truly a unique challenge for all of us,” Fleetwood said. “I’ve only ever hit a 5-wood. The only hole I can hit more is the 18th. But when you get to that point, you’re like, ‘Well, I’ve never hit a 5-wood before and I don’t feel very comfortable with it.’

Rory McIlroy was also in the field, tied for 17th, six strokes back, but produced one of Friday’s biggest highlights.
