Haas carries out major update ahead of US GP

Haas brought major upgrades to the American Grand Prix, being one of only two teams to introduce new parts.

The sprint format of race weekends at COTA has traditionally limited the amount of development each team brings to Austin, and this year that is further emphasized as the majority of the grid is focused on the 2026 regulations.

This means that apart from Haas, only Mercedes has submitted new components, with rear corner updates seeing “reduced upper lip camber to improve local flow quality near the top wishbone and reduced winglet span to increase tire clearance.”

But for Haas, significant updates are being developed ahead of their home grand prix as the team aims to stay in contention for sixth place in the constructors’ championship.

At the heart of the upgrade is a new floor with the floor body, floor fence and floor edges all redesigned. The team says this builds on the upgrades introduced at Silverstone, with a focus on high-speed corner performance, with improved floor fencing and outboard edges to increase aerodynamic loading.

Refined rear corner winglets were also brought over to Austin to work alongside the new floor, and Haas also tweaked the sidepod mirror stays to improve flow alignment.

Haas will hold just one practice session on Friday to test the upgrades ahead of Friday afternoon’s sprint qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas.
