  • Jamie Redknapp talks about Liverpool’s chaotic play
  • Liverpool have lost 4 games in a row…can they make a comeback?

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp today summed up his former club, saying there was an atmosphere of “despair” in everything they did.

The Reds surprisingly lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United, with Brian Mbeumo scoring in the first minute and Harry Maguire scoring the winning goal with a header in the 84th minute.

Redknapp was clearly unimpressed with Liverpool and performed his punditry duties after the match, criticizing how chaotic and rushed everything looked from Arne Slott’s side.

Watch Redknapp sum up his worst day in the office at his former club Liverpool in Sky Sports’ post-match coverage below…

Jamie Redknapp talks about Liverpool’s chaotic play

“It could have gone either way, but that’s exactly how it felt today. Even when he (Arne Slott) was substituted, there was always an atmosphere of desperation,” Redknapp said.

“There was never any lull in the game…even if they tied the score, their reaction afterwards…was chaotic.

“I’ve never felt like they were that calm. Losing four on the spin is a blow. I don’t think anyone expected that to happen.”

He added that there appear to be “more questions than answers” about the Liverpool squad at the moment, with their exciting new signings failing to deliver.

Liverpool have now lost four consecutive games in all competitions, losing to Crystal Palace 2-1, Galatasaray 1-0, Chelsea 2-1 and Manchester United 2-1.

The Merseyside giants were looking a bit questionable at the back even before that run of goals started, having conceded a ton of goals and relying on second-half attacks to get past Bournemouth and Newcastle earlier in the season.

Liverpool have two away games next, the first against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, and the next away to Brentford in the Premier League.
