Sean Dyche’s ‘clear demands’ in negotiations to become Nottingham Forest manager have been revealed as the Englishman approaches his move to the City Ground.

Dyche agrees to become Nottingham Forest manager

Manager Evangelos Marinakis has moved quickly to replace Ange Postecoglou, who lost his job after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Chelsea, and it has recently emerged that Dyche is set to take over as manager following positive negotiations.

The former Everton manager has the huge task of ending a 10-game winless run in all competitions, but the 54-year-old is used to working under pressure, having worked under difficult conditions at Goodison Park for nearly two years.

During the Kettering-born manager’s tenure on Merseyside, the Toffees had to deal with point deductions and a relegation battle, but ultimately achieved his main goal of keeping the club in the Premier League.

However, Everton ultimately decided that the former Burnley manager was not the right fit for them long-term and was replaced by manager David Moyes earlier this year, at which point his side were the second-lowest scorer in the top flight.

It was therefore unclear whether Forest were targeting Daish as part of a long-term project or simply to guide them to safety, but Ben Jacobs has now revealed that the Brits required the former before agreeing to take part.

“Dyche has made it clear during negotiations that he will only take Forrest’s role on a long-term contract. Forrest believes his style is a good fit. Ian Warne and Steve Stone will likely form part of Dyche’s backroom staff.”

Daichi needs to make an immediate impact at the City Ground

It’s a bit early for Forest fans to panic, but there will definitely be major concerns about how they will start the season after picking up just five points from their opening eight Premier League games.

Tricky Trees spent a lot of money in the summer after clinching a long-awaited return to Europe last season, so Marinakis would have been hoping for a start, but it has been nothing but a shambles so far and Nuno’s departure is a huge blow.

Forest owners’ decision to sack Ange after just 39 days has been criticized, with Jamie Redknapp and Steve Sidwell discussing the move on Sky Sports, but the manager is likely to come under pressure after failing to win in his first eight games.

Dyche is known for his more pragmatic style of play, so Nottingham Forest will be hoping to get back to basics and build on more results from Thursday’s Europa League match against FC Porto.
