West Ham have had a poor start to the season, but there is still time to turn their fortunes around. The January transfer window will help in this regard, with plans being made to add additional players to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

This is one area that could be worked on offensively, with Nicklas Fulkrug and Callum Wilson struggling in the scoring department. Nuno could push to sign another striker when the transfer window reopens, and there could be one candidate who stands out above the rest. That’s Ivan Toney, who they’ve shown interest in in recent weeks.

According to Alan Nixon (via Hammers News), West Ham are already working on a deal that would bring Tony back to the Premier League. The former Newcastle and Brentford striker is reportedly open to joining on loan for the second half of the 2025-26 season to boost his chances of returning to the England squad for next summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Tony has been in good form this season with Al Ahly in the Saudi Professional League, scoring nine goals in 11 competitive games. He has scored 39 goals in total since arriving in the summer of 2024, but the time may soon come for him to return to the Premier League.

There is no doubt that Toney would be a fantastic signing for West Ham given his proven track record in the Premier League. His form in Saudi Arabia shows he is still performing at a high level and could be more than capable of outperforming Fulkrug and Wilson in front of goal.
