Liverpool are hoping to strengthen their attacking line with the signing of Antoine Semenyo during the January transfer window.

According to INews, the player is reportedly a target for Manchester United. The 25-year-old has been exceptional in the Premier League this season, having already scored six goals in the league.

He has shown he is capable of competing at the highest level and playing for the biggest clubs in the country. Liverpool need more quality and depth in their attacking line and the African would be a great addition.

Antoine Semenyo will improve Liverpool

He is firmly entrenched in the Premier League. He was able to make an immediate impact. Liverpool lack players who can carry the ball forward and beat defenders in one-on-one situations. They have yet to properly replace Luis Diaz, and Kodi Gakpo has also not lived up to expectations on the left wing.

Bournemouth’s attacker would be an upgrade from the Dutch international. On top of that, Mohamed Salah has also not been able to perform at the level expected of him. Liverpool are growing concerned about his form and are looking to add more flair and unpredictability to their attacking line-up.

The 25-year-old has a mysterious release clause in his contract and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are able to trigger it in January. The opportunity to join the defending champions is very exciting for the player and it will be a big step up in his career. Semenyo seems to be quite expensive.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also keeping an eye on his movements. It will be interesting to see if they steal a march on their rivals and decide to move to the African squad in January. They have recently signed several wide players and may be unlikely to invest in Semenyo in January.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
