Liverpool manager Arn Slott is said to need Andrew Robertson back in his starting XI after the left-back’s strong performance last night.

The Scotland international has fallen down the slot pecking order so far this season, with Milos Kerkes often favored in the starting XI since his summer move from Bournemouth.

But it’s inevitable that Kerkes has been a little underwhelming in his time at Liverpool so far, and it’s clear Robertson still has a lot more to offer.

Although Robertson is no longer in his best form, he put in a great performance in last night’s away game against Eintracht Frankfurt, especially with his brilliant assist for Hugo Ekitike’s goal.

Liverpool advised to bring Andrew Robertson back into the starting XI

See below where The Athletic’s James Pearce suggested Robertson has shown he deserves more chances than Kerkes in the slot lineup…

“It was Andy Robertson’s first start for Liverpool in a month and he has made a huge difference. His pass on the night set up Hugo Ekitike’s equaliser. He looked much better on the left flank and should be in the line-up against Brentford on Saturday,” Pearce wrote on X.

The 31-year-old certainly did no harm to his chances and it may seem a little strange that he was left out in favor of Kerkes in the first place.

Liverpool’s summer signing still looks unconvincing

Kerkes isn’t the only new signing for LFC who is struggling, with Florian Wirtz also having a slow start (though last night he had two assists for the first time this season) and right-back Jeremy Frimpong also being below average.

But perhaps the biggest concern is Alexander Isak, who has only scored one goal so far despite being a big-money signing from Newcastle and looking like a very exciting signing.

Hugo Ekitike has continued to perform well since his arrival, but it remains to be seen why the other new signings have not performed as well as the club expected.
