Manchester United’s unstable star pushes for away move in January, PL rivals also option

Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly set to prompt his departure from the club in January, with West Ham likely to be his option.

As I first reported here in the Daily Briefing a few weeks ago, Man United were also initially insistent on keeping Gilsey until the summer, but there is now a growing feeling they are open to letting him go.

However, the Dutch international wants to play more regularly and is now expected to ask to leave Old Trafford, reports the Daily Mirror.

West Ham could be an option for Zirksee, with the Hammers seemingly in need of some signings to shake things up this January after a poor start to the season.

Joshua Zirkzee move makes sense for Man United and West Ham

Despite initially looking very promising at former club Bologna, Zirksee has struggled during his time at United and could now make sense for a move.

The 24-year-old clearly wants more playing time, but it doesn’t seem like that will happen anytime soon under manager Ruben Amorim.

A loan to West Ham looks like a good option for United, as it doesn’t seem to make much sense to keep an unfortunate player who won’t be used much anyway.

I’m sure WHUFC will be happy with this result. It will bring in something different to improve the attack, and players who have spent a lot of time on the bench will also be desperate to make an impression and find themselves in a position to compete in the Dutch national team’s World Cup squad.

On the other hand, if Zirksee leaves, United may find it easier to replace them in attack, which could make them stronger in the second half of the season.
