Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Ruben Amorim ‘loves’ what Mason Mount brings to the team.
The former Chelsea midfielder has had a bit of a slow start to life at Old Trafford, with a lack of form and a number of serious injuries keeping him away from the team.
But now Mount has looked back on his best days in a Man United shirt, with Neville praising him as someone Amorim clearly feels he can trust.
Neville compared Mount to someone like Adam Lallana and the “glue” in the team that holds everything together.
Mount has been a star player for Chelsea for many years and it may come as no surprise that he is having such an impact at United now, having overcome the issues that affected him a few years ago.
Mason Mount gets rave reviews from Manchester United legend Gary Neville
Neville praised Mount on the latest episode of Overlap, saying: “He loves Mason Mount.
“I can see that he wants to mount with Mbeumo and Cunha. You know how I feel about mount? He reminds me of Darren Anderton’s words of Adam Lallana… Park Ji-sung could be a little bit, a player who does the ugly part of it well but still ties things together and glues things together.”
It has taken a while for Mount to break through at United, but this is perhaps a reminder of why the club paid so much to sign him from Chelsea.
Other experts not convinced by Mason Mount
Neville’s former United team-mates Paul Scholes and Roy Keane seemed less convinced about Mount.
Keane is unimpressed with the England international’s lack of goals and assists, but Scholes said even a hard-working utility player like Park would score from time to time during his time at Old Trafford.
What do you think about Mount’s good form as a United fan? Should he play an important role in this team? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
