  • Manager Jurgen Klopp unlikely to return
  • Liverpool will settle for the slot

Liverpool have been in poor form in recent weeks, losing four straight in all competitions.

They bounced back with a win over Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. They will aim to get the season back on track with that in mind. Either way, Arne Slott is under huge pressure and there are rumors about his long-term future at the club.

Liverpool are rumored to be linked to former manager Jurgen Klopp.

Pete O’Rourke revealed on Football Insider that the 58-year-old manager and the club are not ruling out any possibility and Liverpool would be hard-pressed to turn down the opportunity to bring him back to the club if the situation arose.

“I’m sure neither party will rule anything out. Jurgen Klopp has had a great time at Liverpool and is very well thought of,” he said.

“He seems very happy with his role at the moment, working at Red Bull and away from coaching.

“Obviously, both parties would never say no, and if the opportunity came along it would probably be difficult for the club to turn it down.

“But he has said in the past that if he were to return to English football, there was only one club he could go to and that was Liverpool.”

Klopp had previously insisted he would only return to English football with Liverpool. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. The German manager is currently enjoying his time away from management, taking a leadership role at Red Bull.

He will not want to abandon their project for the time being. It seems highly unlikely that Klopp will return to Liverpool anytime soon.

Liverpool will settle for the slot

It is also unlikely that the Premier League champions will sack the manager who won the league title just a few months ago. Even if he struggles in the coming months, Liverpool are likely to be patient with Slot, giving him time to turn things around.
