  • Arne Slott looks ahead to tough away matches
  • Liverpool need solutions, not excuses

Liverpool manager Arne Slott has given an honest assessment of his team’s recent struggles, admitting that opponents are starting to find effective ways to negate his team’s attacking rhythm.

After the series of disappointing results, the Dutch coach reflected on the tactical challenges his team faced and admitted that his players had not yet adapted quickly enough to the strategy being used against them.

The Reds lost to Brentford in their latest Premier League match. This loss marks their fourth consecutive loss in the league.

Mohamed Salah rediscovered his scoring form against Brentford and this was the only positive for Slott in the match, but the team lost to a determined Brentford side who constantly threatened Liverpool’s defense and ran them over in the midfield.

Slott also pointed to tough away games as a factor, but was quick to clarify that was not an excuse.

Liverpool’s football has often been fluid and dominant, but recent games have highlighted a growing pattern of teams sitting deep, closing central passing lanes and mounting counter-attacks.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, he said:

“Each team has a certain style of play against us, which will be a very good strategy against us. And we haven’t found the answer yet.”

His comments demonstrate both respect for their opponents’ preparation and recognition that Liverpool must evolve tactically.

The manager’s comment about Liverpool’s hectic travel schedule, “It’s not an excuse, but it didn’t help that we played a lot of games away,” suggests the effects of physical and mental fatigue.

Some of Liverpool’s last games were played on the road, including tough trips to Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Brentford.

Although fatigue and match congestion are taking their toll, Slott remains firmly focused on finding solutions rather than excuses.
