Chelsea are interested in signing Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki within the next month.

According to a report from SportWitness, multiple clubs are eyeing the 23-year-old Japanese international, with Chelsea hoping to finalize a deal.

Chelsea could use Zion Suzuki

Robert Sanchez has not lived up to expectations at the London club and Chelsea are looking for a replacement. It will be interesting to see if Parma makes a move to sign a goalkeeper in the coming weeks.

The Italian team signed the Japanese goalkeeper for a fee of around 10 million euros, but they are likely to demand a premium for him. Chelsea have the financial wherewithal to make a deal and would do well to secure his signature.

Suzuki is a talented young goalkeeper with a promising future. He will only improve with coaching and experience. Regular football in the Premier League could bring out the best in him. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to join them would be a very exciting one for the goalkeeper.

Former Sint-Truiden manager Torsten Fink once told Wolffoot: “He is considered one of the greatest talents in the world in his position and we have to develop him.”

Italian clubs such as AC Milan and Inter Milan are also monitoring his situation. It remains to be seen whether the goalkeeper is ready to move to the Premier League and leave Italian football.

It will be difficult for Chelsea to convince Parma to sell the player midway through the season. They will have a hard time finding his replacement in January. He is one of their best players and losing him in January will be a blow to them.

It would be reasonable to assume that any move may have to wait until the summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to negotiate a reasonable contract for the Japanese international. Suzuki was also rumored to be moving to Manchester United.
