Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has been in great form this season.

The 23-year-old Ecuadorian international continues to perform at a high level and is undoubtedly the best defensive midfielder in the league at the moment. Due to his performances, Caicedo has been linked with top clubs.

Enzo Maresca waxes lyrical about Moises Caicedo

Manager Enzo Maresca is currently praising the talented young midfielder. During Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League today, Maresca described Caicedo as one of the two best defensive midfielders in the world at the moment.

Chelsea are pleased with his performances so far and hope he can maintain his current form until the end of the season. He has played a pivotal role in their success so far this season. Chelsea want to fight for trophies and need Caicedo in top form.

“He’s at the top. He and Rodri are two of the best defensive midfielders in the world at the moment,” Maresca told the BBC.

The South American player is still very young and will only improve with coaching and experience. When Chelsea paid him over £100m they would have expected him to perform consistently at this level.

They will be happy with the transfer results so far. They will be hoping that the midfielder can fulfill his potential with them and develop into a world-class star. Chelsea also want to tie him to a new contract.

Caicedo is also happy with his performance and wants to build on his excellent start to the season. He will be hoping to lead Chelsea to big trophies in the coming seasons.

Meanwhile, Maresca also hailed Manchester City midfielder Rodri as one of the two best defensive midfielders in the world.
