West Ham United are very serious about signing Oscar Mingueza from Celta Vigo in January.

The 26-year-old defender will become a free agent at the end of the season and is rumored to be set to leave the Spanish club in the coming weeks. He may be available for a reasonable amount. According to a report from Fichajes, it could be sold in January for as little as €8 million.

West Ham have been tracking Mingueza for several months. Last year, he was rumored to be moving to Liverpool.

Nuno wants Oscar Mingueza

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo believes the Spanish defender will be a quality signing for the Hammers. It will be interesting to see if the London club can seal a deal. They have the resources, but they need to convince players to join them.

Mingueza is primarily a right-back, but can also play on either flank. His versatility will be an added bonus.

Celta Vigo would not want to lose a player of his quality for free. It would make sense to sell him for a nominal price in January instead. West Ham would do well to secure his signature at a bargain price. They are in dire need of higher quality. They have had a poor start to the season and are struggling to survive.

They need to convince the player that this is the best place to realize his ambitions. There is no doubt that they have quality players at their disposal and have been successful in winning European trophies in recent years. However, they are currently struggling to survive in the Premier League. Last season they finished in the bottom half of the league standings.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. The Hammers are not the only club keen on an experienced full-back. They should act quickly to win the competition for his signature.
