Paul Scholes makes a big statement about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has made some pretty bold claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold has left Liverpool for a lower-ranked side this summer, joining Real Madrid.

The England international ended his contract at Anfield and ended up moving to the Bernabéu, but it wasn’t long before he returned for a reunion with his former club.

Alexander-Arnold was booed by Liverpool fans during this week’s Champions League match against Madrid.

This was criticized by experts on this week’s episode of Overlap, but Mr Scholes also said he felt Mr Alexander-Arnold had done the wrong thing anyway.

Trent Alexander-Arnold says he is leaving Liverpool for a worse team.

In a discussion of Alexander-Arnold and the reception from Liverpool fans, Scholes said: “He probably left a better team for a worse team.”

It may seem a bit foolish to write too much of Real Madrid off, but it certainly hasn’t been the most convincing start to the season for Xabi Alonso’s side.

As well as losing 1-0 to Liverpool, the Whites also suffered a humiliating 5-2 defeat to rivals Atletico Madrid earlier this season.

Once again, LFC has won two in a row and now has 7 wins and 6 losses, and although they seem to be over their worst form, they haven’t been doing particularly well lately.

All in all, Alexander-Arnold must have been looking for a new challenge after so many years at Liverpool, so he probably feels somewhat justified in his choice.

The 27-year-old has also been able to maintain his form, winning the Premier League title in his final year at the club, and will feel Real can still be contenders for big trophies such as the Champions League this season.
