Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are keeping an eye on Brentford striker Igor Thiago ahead of a potential transfer.

Igor Thiago is having a breakthrough season at Brentford and his performances have attracted interest from some of the country’s biggest clubs.

According to Trivera and ESPN Brazil via SportWitness, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are all keen to sign the Brazilian striker. All three clubs are closely monitoring his progress and have already made inquiries about his availability.

After rising through the ranks with Cruzeiro and making a name for himself, the 24-year-old had impressive spells at Ludogorets and Club Brugge before joining Brentford in the summer of 2024.

Igor Thiago’s time at Brentford

Last season, he didn’t get off to the best start in the Premier League as he was only on the pitch for a total of 169 minutes due to two serious knee injuries. However, Igor Thiago has completely turned things around in the ongoing campaign.

He has been given a starting role in the team following the departures of Brian Mbeumo and Yoan Wissa, and the Brazilian striker has supported the team with sensational performances. He played in 10 league games and scored six times. Only Erling Haaland has a better record in the English top flight.

His stock rose significantly after scoring goals in the back of the net against teams such as Liverpool and Manchester United. Igor Thiago is currently on the wishlist of Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa.

All three clubs are scouting him and have already established contacts to understand what it would take to sign him. Spurs are keen to add Dominic Solanke to their squad as he struggles to stay fit.

Despite signing two strikers in the summer, the Magpies are still looking for more quality in their final third and believe the 24-year-old is ideal for their project. Meanwhile, Unai Emery is looking for a player to rival Olly Watkins in his bid to break into his XI and is keen to add the Brentford striker to his side.

All three clubs could struggle to sign him as Brentford do not want to lose another top star after parting ways with Mbeumo and Wissa in the summer. His contract runs through the summer of 2029, and the Bees will definitely have the upper hand in negotiations.
