Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus for a much lower than expected fee.
There was a lot of talk about Man United, especially last season. The club endured the worst Premier League season in history in terms of point returns and league finishes. Many of the club’s attacking players, including Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, struggled to find form.
There is no doubt that this has contributed to the business ahead of the 2025/26 season. In Ruben Amorim’s first summer transfer window as manager, the Red Devils completely revamped their attacking line-up, signing Matheus Cunha, Brian Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
The trio then secured first-team places at Old Trafford and helped Man United record three successive Premier League wins for the first time under Amorim’s guidance before the draw at Nottingham Forest.
However, it appears that the Red Devils may be aiming to further strengthen their offensive line in the coming January period.
Manchester United interested in Vlahovic
Manchester United could pursue a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic this winter, according to TEAMtalk. However, such a transfer will only be considered if there is a departure first. Due to both his new arrival and his poor form, Zirksee may lose his place in the first team and leave the club.
Blachowicz, who is said to be earning £375,000 a week at Turin, has been unable to negotiate a contract extension with the club and will become a free agent in July unless he leaves Juve early. If Vlahovic stays, it appears he will be forced to take a pay cut.
Dubbed a ‘superstar’ for his ability, Vlahovic is definitely available for just £17.5m due to his contract status, according to TEAMtalk. If Zirkzee were to leave permanently, Man United would probably be provided with sufficient funds to pursue Vlahovic. Even if the Dutchman leaves on loan only, the 25-year-old will still have a place in the first team open.
Considering Zirksee’s lack of playing time so far this season, it’s safe to assume he’s moved down the rankings. In the case of Vlahovic, Man United will be in contention to sign Sesko in the summer, which could end up benefiting the Slovenian international.
Man United have reportedly been “informed” of Vlahovic’s situation, but it remains to be seen whether a move will materialize as it “does not necessarily mean they will pull the trigger on a transfer”.
