Aston Villa aim to make a quick move to sign Bundesliga star looking for a new challenge

Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a possible transfer for Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Julian Brandt, whose future is in doubt.

The Germany international has been a key player for Dortmund for many years, and the Bundesliga side are unlikely to want to lose him.

However, TEAMtalk reports that Brunt himself is open to a new challenge, which could give him a chance with Villa, who are one of the clubs interested.

Unai Emery’s side have had a bit of a shaky start to the season, so perhaps making one or two changes to the squad in January could do the trick.

It will be interesting to see how this story develops in the coming weeks, as Brunt could add something a little different to Villa’s attack.

According to TEAMtalk, Dortmund are hoping to keep Brandt and sign him to a new contract, with the 29-year-old set to become a free agent in the summer of 2026.

This means AVFC could have the chance to sign Brandt on the cheap in January, although it is not yet clear what decision the player will ultimately make.

Brandt has four goals and two assists so far this season, so it would be a good thing for BVB to keep him, but he could be persuaded to stay put if he wants to continue playing regularly at a top club.

However, Villa will be an interesting change of scenery for the player who has spent his entire career in the Bundesliga.

Morgan Rodgers has been a mainstay in Villa’s attacking midfield department lately and has just signed a new contract, so it’s a boost for the Midlands side.

But if they lose Rodgers in the future, it would probably be wise to replace them with someone like Blount.
