Manchester United signed Senne Lamence in the summer transfer window, but they are not yet done strengthening their goalkeeping unit.
They are interested in signing 22-year-old Swedish goalkeeper Melker Elborg, who plays for Malmö FF.
The opportunity of a move to the Premier League could be attractive for the young goalkeeper, but it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can agree a deal with the club. According to a report from Expressen, several clubs are keeping a close eye on his development. There could be stiff competition for his signature in the coming months. Manchester United certainly have the financial resources to make a deal and would be wise to invest in a talented goalkeeper like him.
It would be reasonable to assume that Andre Onana and Altai Vaindil could be sold at the end of the season. Both players have not played much of a game since joining Manchester United and have no future at the club. It would be ideal for the club to invest in a talented young player with a promising future. They are looking to build a squad for the future and the 22-year-old Swedish goalkeeper certainly fits that profile.
The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the world is attractive to him and he will be hoping that the two clubs can agree a deal. Even if he is not a regular starter at Manchester United, he could compete with the Belgian goalkeeper for a starting spot.
Both players have high potential and are still young. It can be improved with coaching and experience. Competition for places can bring out the best in a place.
