Liverpool are reportedly preparing for a potential ‘blockbuster’ transfer battle with Tottenham for Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.
According to TEAMtalk, the Ghanaian international has attracted the attention of the Reds as his attacking versatility is seen as a perfect fit for Arne Slott’s style of play.
Semenyo has scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 Premier League games so far this season, making him one of the most in-form players in the country, and it’s easy to see why he could be seen as a key addition to Liverpool.
Will Antoine Semenyo breathe new life into Liverpool’s attack after Mohamed Salah’s poor form?
One of the big concerns for Liverpool so far this season has been the decline in form of last season’s top scorer Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian international is not getting any younger and appears to be unable to perform as consistently as he has for the majority of his Anfield career.
Semenyo, by contrast, appears to be entering his prime at the moment and it will certainly be difficult for Bournemouth to retain him as he would be a perfect fit for many top clubs.
Who else is looking to sign Antoine Semenyo?
TEAMtalk’s report also mentions strong interest from Tottenham, but our information is catch off side That means Manchester United are really expected to step up their efforts to sign Semenyo this January.
The Red Devils have been in good form since bringing in a completely new front three in Matheus Cunha, Brian Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko this summer, but they still look like they need a little more in attack.
Semenyo probably thinks LFC is the better project at the moment, but while it’s fair to say Slot’s side have struggled at the start of the season, manager Ruben Amorim finally seems to have United on an upward trajectory and the player could be tempted by a move to Old Trafford.
