It is no secret that Tottenham are planning to sign a new winger in 2026 to give Thomas Frank’s side even more attacking quality. Multiple targets have been mentioned, including Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo.
Former Real Madrid player Kubo has had a tough season in La Liga, but a change of scenery could revitalize his career, and that could happen at Tottenham in the Premier League.
Takefusa Kubo is interested in joining Tottenham
According to Pete O’Rourke (via Football Insider), Kubo would be tempted by a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“It is possible that the player himself is interested in a move, because this year La Liga has not been the best for Real Sociedad and they are struggling more than usual. They are usually more competitive this season than in previous years, and the player himself may finally be interested in a move to the Premier League.”
“I think given the £52m price tag it could be a big deal to sign in January. He’s Kubo, a top player and he can play on both sides. He’ll definitely add something to Tottenham’s attack as well. He’s on the left. He can also play on the right wing and definitely has goals as well. So he’ll tick a lot of boxes for what Tottenham want in January, but I think any deal would be done given that price tag. ”
Is Takefusa Kubo the new winger Tottenham need?
Kubo has not been at his best in the last 12 to 18 months, but he has shown himself to be a quality player during his time at Real Sociedad. If he can move up a level or two, £52m could prove to be a bargain.
