Ventornato, who earned $2 million by winning the Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint, is owned by Susan Chu. The striking gray or roan horse is sired by Candy Ride (Arg) and out of the Deputy Minister mare Spooky Minister. This year, Valiant Minister’s progeny include 30 winners, highlighted by the $2.3 million earner Ventornato and Iron Hand, who has won $154,037.
Bridlewood’s general manager, George Isaacs, praised Bentornato’s impressive Breeders’ Cup Sprint victory and sees the $3,500 stud fee as an excellent opportunity for Florida breeders to develop competitive and top-tier racehorses. Ventornato, favored at 8-5 in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, won by 2 1/2 lengths, covering six furlongs in 1:08.20 with a Beyer Speed Figure of 110 – his fourth consecutive Beyer score above 100. He is a son of the mare Her Special Way by Put It Back and was bred in Florida by Chew’s Tamma Corporation.
Valiant Minister’s notable offspring also include multiple stakes winners like Outfoxed ($497,554) and Locoa Vario ($465,575), alongside several other stakes competitors. Valiant Minister himself won his only race start with a Beyer Speed Figure of 99, taking a six-furlong maiden special weight event at Santa Anita by 2 1/4 lengths, leading throughout the race.
