Last year, many anticipated a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game, but that didn’t come to pass due to Detroit’s unexpected playoff loss to the Washington Commanders. This season, the two teams will face off for the first time in Week 11, with the Eagles hosting the Lions at Lincoln Financial Field during Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Philadelphia, currently 7-2 and leading the NFC East, enters this game on a three-game winning streak, most recently beating the Green Bay Packers 10-7. Detroit, also performing well with a 6-3 record after defeating Washington 44-22, shares the top spot in the NFC North alongside the Chicago Bears.

Sunday’s sports schedule is packed: The NBA features eight games including a crucial matchup between the Chicago Bulls (6-5) and Utah Jazz (4-8) at 8 p.m. ET in Salt Lake City. Meanwhile, the NHL kicks off its 2025 Global Series with a morning game between the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins in Sweden, and includes a match later at Madison Square Garden where the New York Rangers (10-7-2) face the Detroit Red Wings (10-7-1). Despite the Rangers’ three-game winning streak, their home performance has been weak this season.

College basketball also offers over 30 games on Sunday, highlighted by Miami (3-0) taking on No. 10 Florida (2-1) in Jacksonville at 8:30 p.m. ET. Miami recently won big against Stetson, and Florida narrowly defeated Florida State last week.

Regarding betting odds, the Eagles are favored by 2.5 points over the Lions, the Bulls by 4.5 points against the Jazz, the Rangers are money line favorites at -141 versus the Red Wings, and Miami is a heavy 10.5 point favorite against Florida.

NBA: Bulls at Jazz

  • Location: Salt Lake City
  • TV: NBA League Pass

The Bulls look to break a four-game losing streak, while the Jazz aim for their second win in six matches. Betting models suggest the total points will score under the line set.

NHL: Red Wings vs. Rangers

  • Time: 7 p.m.
  • Location: New York
  • TV: NHL Network
  • Streaming: Fubo (free trial)
With both teams experiencing low scoring in recent games, models predict a defensive, low-scoring contest.

College Basketball: Miami vs. Florida

  • Time: 8:30 p.m.
  • Location: Jacksonville, Florida
  • TV: ESPN
  • Streaming: Fubo (free trial)
Expect a defensively strong game with scoring totals likely staying below the predicted line.

Fan Take: For hockey enthusiasts, Sunday’s Rangers vs. Red Wings game is a crucial test of defensive skills and strategy, possibly setting the tone for the rest of the NHL Global Series. Such international showcases help grow the sport’s global appeal and deepen fan engagement, which is vital for hockey’s continued growth and success.
